fake-profound

noun

1. The mental state in which you ponder things you think are profound, but upon further inspection is really a load of crap, usually acompanied by melancholy or melodramatic poetry. This state of mind is involuntary, as sometimes, (but not always) the host is high.

He realized, as he stared at the moving wall, that he hadn’t realized anything deep after all, and this realization seemed meaningful until it occurred to him he was just being fake-profound.
